During Construction

Council asks the local community, businesses and visitors to please be patient during this time.  All efforts will be made by Council and Abigroup to minimise disruption in the area.

Working hours

Generally, working hours will be between 7am and 6pm Monday to Saturday.  Abigroup will survey residents and businesses close to each of the construction stages to evaluate the best possible time for higher impact works.

Beach access

There will be pedestrian access from the retail precinct to the beach at all times.  Access points may change depending on the stage of works but the area will be well signed to avoid any confusion.  Gold Coast City Council Life Guards will operate as usual during this time.

Noise and dust

Due to the scale of the redevelopment, some noise and dust will emanate from the construction site.  However, the Council and Abigroup will do everything they can to minimise the impact for local residents, businesses and tourists.

Traffic changes

It is likely that traffic along The Esplanade will be periodically limited to one-lane during some stages of construction.  If the current traffic arrangements are to be changed, Council will notify the community in advance through local media , newsletters and other communication methods.

Events

Council is working closely with event organisers to ensure best possible outcomes are achieved for all events.
